PEN PALS PROJECT
Os alunos dos 7os anos da Escola Comunitária de Campinas estão iniciando um projeto de correspondência, o Pen Pals Project, com alunos de escolas em outros países. Os 7os A e B estão se correspondendo com a cidade de Birmingham, na Inglaterra e o 7º C com a cidade de Artice, na Eslovênia. Já os alunos dos 7os D e E iniciam o seu projeto com uma escola dos EUA, na cidade de Arcata, na Califórnia.
Sob a supervisão das professoras Luciene e Márcia, os alunos irão trocar cartas, emails, fotos e imagens sobre suas escolas, cidades e estilos de vida.
Uma oportunidade preciosa para entrarem em contato com outros falantes do idioma e descobrirem as maravilhas que a diversidade cultural e o aprendizado de um idioma estrangeiro podem nos oferecer.
The 7th grade students are starting a new project called Pen Pals Project with students from schools around the world. Groups A & B’s contact is with a school in Birmingham, England and group C has started exchanging information with a school in Artice, Slovenia. Groups D & E have a school from Arcata, in California, USA.
Under the supervision of teachers Luciene and Marcia, the students are going to exchange letters, emails, photos and images about their schools, cities and lifestyles.
This is a precious opportunity to get in contact with other English speakers around the world and find out the benefits that cultural diversity and foreign language learning can bring us all.
Detalhes do projeto:
O projeto consiste de uma troca de cartas, emails, fotos e filmagens entre os estudantes do 7º. ano da Escola Comunitária de Campinas e estudantes dos Estados Unidos, da Inglaterra e da Eslovênia.
Objetivos:
*Intensificar o interesse pela língua inglesa
*Promover um uso real da língua inglesa
*Desenvolver a habilidade de produção escrita dos seguintes gêneros textuais: carta, pôster e relatório de pesquisa
*Desenvolver a habilidade de leitura e escrita por meio da troca de cartas, e-mails, cartões postais, revistas e textos informativos sobre a cidade e o país
*Propiciar um contato personalizado dos alunos com uma nova cultura e com novas pessoas
*Possibilitar oportunidades para que os alunos escrevam sobre sua vida pessoal, familiar e sobre sua escola, sua cidade e seu país
*Divulgar uma imagem de nosso país que desmistifique alguns estereótipos
*Permitir que os alunos se conheçam melhor e conheçam melhor sua cidade e seu país
*Promover um ensino interdisciplinar
*Abordar conteúdos do currículo de forma significativa e mais próxima da realidade de nossos alunos.
Details of the project
The project consists in an exchange of letters, emails, photos, images among students from the 7th grade at Escola Comunitária de Campinas and students from the United States, England and Slovenia.
Main objectives
*Intensifying students’ interest in the English language
*Promoting a real and meaningful use of the language
*Developing writing skills through the following types of texts: letters, posters, and survey reports
*Developing reading skills through letters, emails, postcards, magazine articles and other texts about the cities and countries involved in the project
*Promoting a personalized contact between the students and different cultures/ people
*Opening opportunities for students to write in English about their personal lives and their schools, cities and countries.
*Spreading a real image of our country so as to clarify some misconceptions
*Allowing students to learn more about themselves and their cities/countries
*Promoting interdisciplinary learning experiences
*Covering the contents in a meaningful way, closer to our students’ reality.
